Introduction
Presented here are experimental ionization cross sections measured using the Electron-Ion Crossed Beams apparatus in the Multicharged Ion Research Facility (MIRF) at the Physics Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). The data are given in both graphical and tabular form along with the reference to the original publication of the experimental results. Also presented in the figures are theoretical cross sections supporting the experiments. For details of the theoretical work, please refer to the original publication given for the particular experiment. These World-Wide Web pages are based primarily on three technical memorandums issued by ORNL:
- D. H. Crandall, R. A. Phaneuf, and D. C. Gregory, Electron Impact Ionization of Multicharged Ions, ORNL/TM-7020, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, 1979.
- D. C. Gregory, D. H. Crandall, R. A. Phaneuf, A. M. Howald, G. H. Dunn, R. A. Falk, D. W. Mueller, and T. J. Morgan, Electron Impact Ionization of Multicharged Ions at ORNL: 1980-1984 , ORNL/TM-9501, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, 1985.
- D. C. Gregory and M. E. Bannister, Electron-Impact Ionization of Multicharged Ions at ORNL: 1985-1992, ORNL/TM-12729 , Oak Ridge National Laboratory, 1992.
Also presented are more recent (1993-present) data, both published and unpublished.
These pages are optimized for Gecko-based browsers, such as Seamonkey 1.1.x and Firefox 2.0. Other browsers may not be able to display all the pages as designed.
The data pages now feature dynamic plotting, allowing the user to choose which sets of data to plot and zoom in on regions of interest within the plot.
